Bright Purple Comment on Rising Demand for Change Managers in Scotland
As Scotland's largest banks - RBS and Lloyds - go through significant restructuring as a result of the recession, change managers have been in demand for some time. However, as more companies seek to capitalise on the perceived upturn, the demand has surged again...
Recently asked to comment on the subject for financial careers and recruitment news publisher e-Financial Careers, Bright Purple's managing consultant for financial services - Mike Leeman - had this to say:

"Financial services firms in Scotland have been recruiting a lot of change managers, project managers and business analysts with change experience this year," Mike noted.

"Whereas previously this would have been about slashing costs, now it's more about integrating processes more efficiently to enhance profits for when the situation improves."

Commenting on the finite nature of many of the contracts available to change managers, typically 6-9 months, Mike continued "essentially, you're working as an internal consultant, stripping various processes down to their bare bones, and then rebuilding it in a more efficient way."

It is, however, a relatively lucrative contract, with Mike pointing out that contractors can earn £300 a day for business analyst positions, while those further up the food chain pay up to £600 a day.
