Members of the Bright Purple team, Jan Mutch, Ally Scott and Karen-Rose Davidson, recently participated in the Edinburgh Moonwalk to help raise awareness of breast cancer and raise money for cancer research.
Bright Purple’s operations director, Jan Mutch (pictured below) once again put on her training shoes for the second year running and took to the streets of Edinburgh to Walk the Walk, raising money for breast cancer. On June 20th 2009, Jan was joined by her colleagues, Ally Scott and Karen Rose-Davidson, and together they completed their gruelling walk under Edinburgh’s night sky.
The event, which aims to raise money for breast cancer research, is unique in that, not only do all the participants power walk a marathon (26.2 miles), or a half marathon (13.1 miles), depending on which distance they have chosen, but they all wear decorated bras to raise awareness for breast cancer. This event is also different from most, in that it takes place at night and it is a remarkable sight, thousands of women and men marching in the dark in colourful, decorated bras.
Last year the event raised more than £3 million and 2009 hope’s to do even better.
Bright Purple are proud of Jan, Ally and Karen-Rose and would like to congratulate them on their efforts.
