Bright Purple has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Systems Administrator to work with their client, a leading electronics group based in Edinburgh. Reporting to the Head of Information Services, you will be responsible for the design, maintenance, management and support of the internal IS Global Infrastructure.

Duties will include:
*Research and recommend infrastructure solutions that provide business benefit
*Design and implementation of infrastructure which is fit for purpose
*Recommending, implementing, documenting and maintaining system configurations, performance monitoring/tuning, system software maintenance
*Responsible for disaster recovery design, building, implementation and ongoing testing to ensure the IS infrastructure can be recovered from agreed scenarios to ensure the on-going operation
*Liaise with, manage and direct third party support organisations
*Provide second line support for system
*Responsible for resolving all technical infrastructure issues. Take ownership of cross functional problems and work with others to provide solutions.

You should have good experience in at least 3 of the following technologies:
*Red hat Linux systems administration (e.g. Red Hat5).
*SAN administration - Netapp, SAN and Brocade Fibre Switches
*Windows Server Administration.
*Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Exchange and Sophos Anti-Virus.
*Commvault backup administration.
*3Com/Cisco Network management (voice and data)
*Virtualisation Concepts and management using VMwarevsphere4
*Disaster Recovery with exposure to VMware SRM and Plate Spin.
*Managing and administering monitoring tools viz. Nagios.
*Understanding of X-windows applications e.g. X-win, VNC and Exceed on Demand
