Security - Software Development Manager

AGILE / People Management / Technical Background

Due to growth and expansion of a globally recognised ecommerce organisation we are looking for a highly effective and accountable Security Software Development Manager this is a pivotal role within a leading global organisation and whilst the ideal candidate must have experience within an AGILE environment they also must have leadership and people management skills also with technical ability and understanding.
Responsibilities include product road-map, technical vision and operational, by leading and managing teams with overall responsibility on system rebuilds, improving features and inventing performance and operation metrics we fundamentally require expertise in web security software and managing software teams.

You must be able to:

*Lead high-performing software engineers, interacting with teams to shape the vision by working together setting out the road-map & program which is inherently ambiguous and fast changing.
*You must be able to partner with a diverse set of colleagues across the company (and across the world) to define and deliver projects & lead the delivery of multiple large and complex projects that span different aspects of the business/technical stack.
*Anticipate bottlenecks, escalate as needed and balance business needs versus technical constraints.
*Write effectively, sharing relevant project updates, road-maps and metrics with stakeholders and customers.
*Manage external vendors through contract negotiations, holding them accountable against a high operational bar and driving improvements.

Basic Qualifications

*Accountability leading software development teams
*Prior experience of software development and a solid grounding in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, operating systems, programming languages and distributed systems.
*Experience with modern software development practices including agile practices, automated testing, and continuous deployment.
*Experience leading delivery of multiple large, cross-team projects.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Experience analysing business and operational metrics.

Preferred Qualifications

*Experience and interest in web technologies and web security
*Advanced quantitative analytic abilities.
*Experience delivering complex projects in partnership with remote colleagues.
*Experience with product management.
*Experience managing vendors including contract negotiation.
