Full Stack Software Engineer(s)
Salary: £75,000
Location: Edinburgh/Remote
Overview:
One of the great success stories of the Scottish start-up world are looking to hire 3 full-stack Software Engineers to help drive forward their groundbreaking data analytics software.
Their carefully curated, AWS-hosted Platform offers unrivaled competitive advantage to the investment industry, providing previously unachievable access to real-time market intelligence, uncovering previously unattainable insight, and at-a-glance sector analysis. This data-driven approach, harnessing the best in modern software engineering and data analysis, unlocks value and facilitates idea creation at scale.
You will be joining a great engineering culture defined by understanding, empathy, and collaboration. Senior Management are motivated by providing the most secure environment within which to excel, offering the chance to make a real impact on software design and platform development from day one.
Just as they have designed an industry-leading product by listening to their customers, they are constructing a people-first culture by listening to what their employees want and need. You will never just be a "cog in the wheel"; you will be a nurtured and respected human being.
We are looking for mid-level engineers to join the team, as well as Senior/Lead Engineers to lead new product development. They take a fairly flexible approach - "a good engineer is a good engineer" - so you could come from a JavaScript, C#, Java, Ruby or C++ background, but must be willing to work with:
Key Skills:
-
A Solid Degree (2:1+) in a Computer Science or STEM subject
-
c.2/3 years experience for mid-level / 5+ years for Senior/Lead
-
Experience in OOP language (Python/Java/C#/C++)
-
Strong experience with web technologies (JS, TS, Django, Flask, React, etc.)
-
Experience in building scalable products for the cloud
-
Confidence in articulating ideas and opinions, and an ability to grasp high-level concepts as well as skills in writing clean, secure and robust code
They are set-up for remote working, and the exact balance of WFH/remote can be discussed on a case by case basis. The rough expectation would be c.2-3 weeks a year in their Edinburgh HQ.
