Bright Purple are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join a major data transformation programme in Edinburgh.

This is a hands on contract role, joining at an important point in the transition from a legacy data warehouse to a new Microsoft Fabric environment.

With go live approaching, your initial focus will be on the final stages of the migration, testing outputs, identifying and debugging differences in data, and making the remedial changes required to get the new environment ready for production. Once live, you will move into post go live support and continued development, building data pipelines and helping deliver the data and reporting requirements across the business.

What we're looking for:

• Microsoft Fabric experience is a must have. You don't need years of experience, but you must have used Fabric on at least one real world commercial project

• Strong, demonstrable Microsoft Synapse development experience

• Excellent PySpark and SQL skills

• Experience building and developing data pipelines

• Strong data testing, validation and debugging skills

• Experience working across data warehouse migrations or modernisation projects

• Power BI experience would be beneficial

The key here is the combination of strong core Microsoft data engineering experience with genuine exposure to Fabric. We're not looking for a Fabric specialist, but equally, training or self learning alone won't be enough.

This is an initial contract offering £400 to £475 per day, Inside IR35, with hybrid working in Edinburgh.

If you're a Data Engineer with strong Synapse, PySpark and SQL experience who has already started working commercially with Microsoft Fabric, then please APPLY NOW.

This is not a traditional corporate BA role centred around governance, reporting or large transformation programmes. Instead, you'll work directly with operational teams to understand how the business functions day to day, mapping real workflows and helping shape the internal technology that powers them.

You'll act as the link between end users and software engineers, ensuring the right problems are solved before anything is built.

What you'll be doing:

Your first priority will be understanding the business from the ground up.

You'll spend time with recruiters, managers and leadership, observing how work happens, facilitating workshops and documenting processes across the full operational lifecycle. From there, you'll translate those findings into clear, structured requirements for the product and engineering team.

You'll also:

Map end-to-end operational workflows

Identify manual processes and opportunities for automation

Produce process diagrams and functional documentation

Collaborate with developers during planning and delivery

Gather user feedback and support continuous product improvement

Help drive adoption of new internal tools through training and documentation

What we're looking for:

We're interested in people who naturally bring clarity to complex processes.

You'll probably have around 2-3 years' experience in Business Analysis, Operations, Process Improvement or a similar role, but background is less important than your ability to ask good questions and communicate clearly.

You'll bring:

Experience mapping business processes and workflows

Strong documentation and requirements gathering skills

Excellent stakeholder communication across different levels of a business

Confidence facilitating workshops and discovery sessions

A logical, structured approach to solving operational problems

Experience with tools such as Jira, Miro, Lucidchart or Notion would be beneficial, but isn't essential.

The business is making a significant long-term investment in proprietary technology rather than relying on off-the-shelf platforms. This role offers genuine influence over how internal products are designed, with a clear progression path into Product Ownership or Product Management as the technology function continues to grow.

Writing clear engineering reports, build procedures, and design documentation

Supporting internal teams and external customers on technical queries

To be considered you will have:

The Role:

Partnering closely with Client Services and Product Management, you'll turn intricate business needs into robust, scalable software. It's a genuine step up for someone looking to sharpen their capital markets know-how while stepping into leadership and mentoring, with hands-on access to cloud-native tools, cutting-edge Java work and AI.

On the development side, you'll build and support in-house systems, APIs, reporting tools and the client portal; bring AI into the development lifecycle; adapt third-party trading systems as the business requires; and write clean, thoroughly tested code grounded in SOLID principles, Design Patterns and Clean Code. You'll also work with microservices and event-driven architectures, cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP, and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform. Testing coverage will rely on JUnit, Spock and Mockito, applying TDD and BDD along the way, and you'll take part in code reviews that help raise the bar across the team.

On the people and communication side, you'll work with Client Services and Product Management to shape solutions from business requirements, explain technical concepts clearly to audiences ranging from developers to senior non-technical stakeholders, and cut through complex problems to find root causes and prioritise fixes.

You'll guide and coach a team of developers, championing quality, ownership and continuous improvement, and collaborating smoothly with offshore colleagues across time zones.

Must Haves:

Hands-on experience with microservices and event-driven architectures

Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) and Terraform

A track record with TDD, Agile and automated build/deployment practices

Practical experience with JUnit/Spock and mocking frameworks like Mockito

A genuine grasp of SOLID, Design Patterns, Clean Code and TDD; confident use of CI/CD

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

If you're a senior Java engineer with capital markets experience looking to combine deep technical work with real leadership impact, in a business investing heavily in cloud, AI and developer experience, this role's worth a look.

What's in it for you:

Salary up to £65,000

Hybrid working - 3 days per week from the Aberdeen office.

You'll get private healthcare and life assurance

Company pension scheme

On-site parking and gym facilities

Real investment in your career through an employer that takes R&D seriously and backs its engineers' growth

The offices are modern and well-equipped, and the culture is collaborative rather than hierarchical

The role:

You'll be involved end-to-end: capturing and shaping requirements alongside the business, designing new code for data acquisition, equipment control, logging and analysis, and taking ownership of large, complex pieces of code with input from fellow engineers.

You'll take part in design reviews and peer review other developers' work, support end users of the finished product, and help maintain and evolve existing software.

There's genuine scope to explore and introduce new technologies where they'd improve code quality or team productivity, and you'll work closely with the firmware team to align methodologies across software and firmware.

Expect to be challenged technically, trusted with real ownership, and surrounded by strong engineers using a modern stack.

What we're looking for:

Solid experience with C#, .NET (or VB) and Visual Studio

A background in C/C++ or embedded software/firmware is a very nice to have

Familiarity with containerisation, services, web applications and database design

Ability to estimate development timescales, produce design documentation, and work confidently with version control

A good grasp of interfacing techniques and communication protocols is a plus

You'll likely be degree-qualified in engineering, physics, computer science, or mathematics. Though demonstrable relevant experience is just as welcome

Confident communication matters too, since you'll collaborate closely across teams

Why apply:

This is a well-established, forward-thinking employer that invests properly in its people and its technology. A rare combination of stability and genuinely interesting engineering work.

Deep beneath the seabed, in wells running to hundreds of degrees and thousands of PSI, our client's wireless telemetry keeps operators seeing clearly. Their downhole monitoring technology feeds real-time pressure and temperature data up from environments most electronics can't survive, and the software you'd be writing sits right at the centre of that: turning raw signal from the bottom of a well into the decisions engineers make on a rig thousands of miles away.

This is a genuinely global engineering business, still investing hard in R&D, looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help push that platform further. If you want your code solving hard, physical problems rather than shuffling data between screens, this is that role.

What's in it for you:

Real investment in your growth - our client puts importance into R&D and into the people doing it, so career development here isn't just a line in the handbook

The role:

You'll own meaningful pieces of the product end to end. From capturing requirements and shaping the design, through to writing, testing and supporting the code that ships. You're not handed a spec and left to it: you'll be trusted to challenge requirements, propose better solutions, and defend your design decisions in review with developers who'll push you to do your best work.

Because this software drives real hardware in real wells, you'll work closely with the Firmware team, the kind of cross-discipline collaboration that's rare in most software roles, and one of the reasons this job stays interesting. Expect a modern C#/.NET toolchain, containerised services, and the latitude to bring in new tools and techniques when they'll genuinely improve the team's output.

It's a role that will stretch you, with a team around you that wants you to succeed.

Comfort estimating, documenting and defending your own designs

Confident communication. You'll work directly with end users, not just other engineers

Why apply:

Our client values diversity and inclusion, and is genuinely committed to finding the right person for this role, not just the closest match on paper. If you're looking for software engineering with real technical depth and a tangible, physical outcome, we want to hear from you.

Edinburgh (office based)

Up to £50,000

We are currently recruiting for a Sales Executive on behalf of our client, to own the full sales cycle for new-logo opportunities, from cold call and self-generated lead through to signed contract. This is an outbound-heavy role: you'll be expected to generate your own pipeline through high-volume cold calling, targeted email and disciplined outbound activity, on top of inbound, event, marketing and partner-sourced leads.

What you'll do

Generate the majority of your own pipeline through high-volume outbound: daily cold calling, targeted email and LinkedIn outreach into ICP-fit hospitality venues and groups. Inbound, marketing and partner sources supplement self-generated activity, they don't replace it.

Maintain consistent daily cold-call activity against agreed standards; build and work target account lists with personalised, well-researched outreach that earns the meeting rather than relying on volume alone.

Run structured discovery on every opportunity to understand the venue's guest journey, tech stack and commercial goals; qualify hard so pipeline reflects real, winnable opportunities.

Use LLM tooling as standard to raise the quality and volume of your output: account research, call prep, personalised outreach and follow-ups.

Run demos that follow the guest journey, not the feature list: show how data capture, marketing, bookings, loyalty and reviews compound into repeat visits and measurable revenue.

Produce proposals, pricing and ROI breakdowns tied to revenue and adoption outcomes; run negotiation and close.

Hit monthly MRR quota with well-attributed pipeline.

Run a clean handover to onboarding and customer success so new customers activate quickly; stay close through early life to surface expansion signals.

Represent the business at events and in the market; feed recurring objections, gaps and wins back to GTM and product.

Work with marketing and partnerships on lead quality, routing and attribution; keep the CRM current so every deal is attributed to its correct source, stage and close date.

What they are looking for.

2+ years in B2B sales, ideally SaaS or hospitality tech; comfortable running a full sales cycle with multiple stakeholders.

Confident on the phone and committed to high-volume cold calling as a core part of the role; comfortable with the rhythm and rejection that outbound demands.

Strong discovery skills: able to diagnose problems, qualify hard, and tie product to commercial outcomes.

Commercially sharp; handles objections, negotiates and closes without losing momentum.

Disciplined on CRM, forecasting and follow-up; closes across sources without over-relying on any one channel.

High energy, resilient, motivated by targets and progress.

Good to have:

Hospitality or hospitality-tech experience; familiarity with POS, bookings, loyalty or payments.

Track record selling a multi-product suite into SMB / mid-market.

Familiarity with HubSpot and prospecting tools (Cognism, ZoomInfo or similar); experience building ROI cases.

Bright Purple is recruiting a 360 Sales Executive for a fast-growing SaaS company that's changing how organisations manage staff training and compliance. Their platform brings everything into one place course libraries, custom content creation, compliance sign-off, and progress reporting so employers can stop chasing paperwork and start proving their teams are trained, certified, and audit-ready.

Customers span hospitality, charities, law firms, tour operators and attractions, and manufacturing sectors where distributed teams, high staff turnover, and regulatory pressure make consistent training genuinely hard to deliver. What You'll Do

Direct experience in staff engagement, employee experience, HR tech, or L&D either from a previous sales role selling into this space, or from a background working in staff engagement/HR functions yourself.

Confidence running consultative demos and handling objections from a range of buyers, from HR managers to operations directors and business owners.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, and genuine comfort working autonomously in a remote-first role.

The role

You'll join an expanding R&D team responsible for the full development lifecycle of downhole and surface tools, from initial concept and design, through coding and testing, to field deployment. Because all firmware is built in-house, you'll work closely with the electronics and mechanical teams, shaping design decisions early rather than just coding to a fixed spec.

A handful of priorities run through everything: minimising power consumption, designing in safe failure modes so faults degrade gracefully, building on an established suite of tools rather than starting from scratch, and finding genuinely innovative solutions where no off-the-shelf answer exists.

You'll be trusted to take real ownership of your projects, with support and mentoring on hand from experienced colleagues rather than close oversight. The scope of the role flexes around the person appointed. A more junior candidate can expect a supported learning curve, while a more experienced engineer could quickly pick up broader responsibility, including input into firmware architecture and mentoring others.

To be considered:

Strong experience writing embedded C

Solid understanding of the specific challenges and constraints of coding for microcontrollers

Working knowledge of digital electronics (some exposure to analogue electronics an advantage)

Familiarity with sound software design principles and practices

Strong mathematical ability, with experience designing custom algorithms

A lateral thinker who enjoys finding unconventional solutions to tricky design problems

Good communication skills and a genuine team player

This is a brilliant opportunity to join a market-leading name in downhole technology, working on cutting-edge embedded systems within a supportive, development-focused environment. Whether you're early in your career or a seasoned engineer, if you can write robust embedded code and enjoy solving hard, unconventional problems, this role offers genuine scope to grow.
