Field Engineer, Telecoms and Networking (full UK Drivers License Needed)
Central Belt Scotland, field based
£300 - £340 per day, Outside IR35
Bright Purple are looking for an experienced Field Engineer for an Outside IR35 contract supporting critical telecoms and networking infrastructure across the central belt in Scotland. This is a hands-on role working across strategic telecoms networks, supporting installation, commissioning, maintenance and first-line assurance activity across key utility environments. You will be working in the field across the Central Belt and wider Scotland, supporting the delivery and maintenance of telecoms and network infrastructure projects. The role will involve installation, commissioning, fault finding, maintenance, documentation and stakeholder updates, with work agreed around an 8-hour day, 5 days per week but the support is 24/7 so the shifts will vary.
Essential Skills:
• Field engineering experience across telecoms, networks or utilities environments
• Strong installation and commissioning background
• Routing and switching knowledge
• WAN, LAN and MPLS experience
• Experience with SDH, PDH, microwave radio or similar telecoms equipment
• Cisco or Alcatel product knowledge
• Strong documentation and communication skills
Desirable Skills:
• NRSWA, EUSR, IOSH or Emergency First Aid
• DC and AC competency
• High voltage substation experience
