Project Manager
UK Remote
Salary, Up to £55,000
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our Change & Transformation Directorate and lead the delivery of strategic business and technology change initiatives. This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives on turning complex, high-profile programmes into real, measurable business outcomes.
The role:
You'll own projects across the full lifecycle, from planning and scope definition through to delivery and benefits realisation — working closely with senior stakeholders, technology teams, operational departments, suppliers and external partners, including the Home Office. You'll bring strong governance, risk management and stakeholder engagement skills to ensure every project is delivered on time, on budget, and to the standards our PMO expects.
What you'll be doing
-
Developing and maintaining detailed project plans, managing dependencies and critical path activities across multiple workstreams
-
Defining project goals and roadmaps, running initiation workshops and requirements-gathering sessions
-
Managing budgets, tracking spend against the business case, and producing monthly financial reporting
-
Identifying, escalating and mitigating risks and issues
-
Acting as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, chairing steering groups and project boards
-
Supporting organisational transformation programmes, business readiness, and post-implementation reviews
-
Coordinating internal teams and third-party suppliers to keep delivery on track
What we're looking for
-
Proven track record delivering business and IT projects in medium to large organisations, including technology-enabled business change
-
Experience in government, public sector, regulated industries, housing or social care (or similar) is a strong plus
-
Experience managing third-party suppliers, systems integrators and multiple concurrent workstreams
-
Solid grounding in PRINCE2, MSP, PMP/APM, Agile-PM, Scrum or hybrid delivery approaches
-
Confidence managing senior stakeholders up to Director/Executive level, including external client stakeholders
-
Experience with UAT planning, change control, and digital platforms; familiarity with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams and MS Project is desirable
