QA Lead
UK Remote

Our client provides emergency accommodation and vital support for some of the country’s most vulnerable people – including survivors of domestic abuse, refugees, and individuals seeking asylum. Their mission is to create safe environments and deliver innovative solutions that protect and empower those most in need.

They are now looking for a QA Lead to drive the strategic direction of quality assurance across an expanding digital landscape. This role centres on process excellence, continuous improvement, and ensuring the QA function is fully aligned with wider business objectives. You’ll define how quality is embedded throughout the SDLC, champion agile best practice, and work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure the organisation delivers secure, reliable, user-centred products.

What’s on offer:

  • Fully remote within the UK
  • Salary up to £58,000
  • 33 days annual leave
  • Pension & healthcare
  • A role with genuine social impact
  • A supportive, mission-driven workplace
  • Professional development and clear career progression

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading the development of a QA strategy that supports business goals, regulatory expectations, and customer needs
  • Improving and standardising QA processes, introducing clear frameworks for planning, coverage, risk management, UAT and release readiness
  • Embedding quality early through close collaboration with Product, Engineering, UX and stakeholders in discovery, refinement and sprint ceremonies
  • Defining scalable test approaches, acceptance criteria and governance standards that strengthen confidence in delivery
  • Implementing meaningful metrics, dashboards and reporting to give visibility of quality, risk and stability across multiple workstreams
  • Championing continuous improvement and transparent communication within Scrum teams, helping uplift delivery predictability and quality outcomes
  • Coaching and mentoring QA professionals, driving upskilling, knowledge sharing, and high-performing team culture
  • Supporting accessible, inclusive, user-first product development and advocating for quality at leadership level

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience leading QA strategy or maturing QA functions within modern, agile product teams
  • A strong background in process improvement and establishing consistent ways of working across manual, UAT and automated testing
  • Ability to align test strategy with business objectives, customer expectations and industry-specific considerations
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of agile/Scrum delivery, CI/CD integration, and quality governance across the full SDLC
  • Experience shaping test coverage, improving documentation, and driving measurable improvements in defect prevention and release confidence

This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a quality function that directly supports an organisation delivering meaningful social impact. You’ll shape how quality is defined, measured, and embedded, helping the business deliver secure, robust and user-focused digital services.

Due to close links to the UK Home Office, all successful candidates will be required to undertake DBS and CTC vetting. Candidates must be UK citizens, have Settled Status or ILR.
