Site Reliability Engineer – Fort Worth, Texas, Hybrid
 
Bright Purple is proud to be working with an innovative international fintech company to find a Site Reliability Engineer for their newly established Texas office.
 
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a close-knit, highly capable technical team and take real ownership of the reliability and performance of a globally distributed Azure environment. You'll be working alongside colleagues in Scotland, with the chance to travel to the UK for onboarding and training.
 
Candidates must hold full right to work in the United States without the requirement for visa sponsorship.

The Role
  • As an SRE, you will take ownership of the stability, resilience, and performance of the organisation's cloud infrastructure.
  • You'll bring an engineering mindset to operational challenges, building better observability, driving automation, and making systems more reliable at scale.
  • Working across a modern Azure estate with global reach, you'll be someone who spots problems before customers do and fixes them in ways that mean they don't come back.
 
What You'll Be Doing
  • Keeping production and staging environments healthy, available, and performing, with a proactive rather than reactive approach
  • Building and improving the team's observability capability, including dashboards, alerting, and log analysis across tools such as Azure Monitor, ELK Stack, and Zabbix
  • Leading on incident response during your on-call rotation, and driving blameless post-incident reviews to reduce repeat occurrences
  • Identifying and eliminating toil through automation, using PowerShell, Azure-native tooling, and infrastructure-as-code practices
  • Supporting and maintaining Kubernetes workloads alongside broader cloud infrastructure across Windows Server and Linux environments
  • Ensuring systems are continuously patched, hardened, and compliant with relevant security frameworks including ISO 27001 and NIST
  • Collaborating with development and operations teams to support reliable, safe deployments and improve delivery pipelines
  • Monitoring capacity and performance trends to stay ahead of demand and continually raise the bar on service quality
 
What We're Looking For
  • Several years of experience in an SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering role, ideally within a regulated or high-availability environment
  • Solid, hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Azure
  • A background in systems administration or IT operations that you've built upon with an engineering-first approach
  • Strong PowerShell scripting skills and a genuine enthusiasm for automation
  • Experience with observability and monitoring tooling, you know how to make a system legible
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes at an operational level
  • Competence with SQL and relational databases, particularly Microsoft SQL Server
  • Awareness of security and compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001 or NIST
  • Comfortable working in an Agile environment
  • Knowledge of ITIL principles is beneficial, support for certification is available
