Bright Purple team relay for the Stroke Association.

At Bright Purple, we love giving back to charity and the community, so when our Edinburgh Marathon team relay event was cancelled due to Covid-19, we came up with our own solution to continue to raise funds!

Between running and cycling we put our best foot forward and covered 215k across Edinburgh and the Lothians, all for our chosen charity, the Stroke Association.  We were delighted to raise £250 for this fantastic cause.

Who are the Stroke Association?

The Stroke Association are a registered charity that do incredible work to support those affected by stroke, and their families. There are 1.2 million stroke survivors in the UK, and a stroke strikes every 5 minutes.

By fundraising and campaigning, the Stroke Association are able to support survivors through means such as community groups, maintaining their Stroke helpline, and funding vital research intro that can find new ways and improvements in stopping stroke from happening, as well as treating and supporting people after a stroke.

This is a cause close to the hearts of Bright Purple, and we are thrilled to be supporting them.

After our hard day of cycling, walking and running, we met up for some socially distanced drinks in the meadows to congratulate ourselves!

How can I support Bright Purple and the Stroke Association?

We were delighted to raise £250 from our relay efforts to support those in need through the Stroke Association. Our own Just Giving page is now closed, however you can continue to support the amazing work of the Stroke Association by donating directly on their website.

Since the start of lockdown, we have supported our staff members with weekly health and well-being hours which in turn inspired us to organise our own socially distanced relay. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and we hope to organise another event in the coming weeks – if you have any ideas for fun and safe activities, do let us know!
