27 years young: celebrating Bright Purple's birthday!

Bright Purple CEO Nick Price reminisces over the last few years of the business.

27 years of being Bright Purple! Wow, they say that time flies when you’re having fun and it’s flown by, but can I honestly say it’s always been fun, I don’t think so?

Running a business is tough, yes even in good times but I would suggest that March 2020 put the 3 previous recessions I’d faced as a leader in perspective, because now I’m running a business in the pandemic years. I have always been exceptionally proud to be Bright Purple, and to me it isn’t just a job any longer, now it’s a way of life for me.

Facing the uncertainty that came with the pandemic was difficult, it was mentally tough and not knowing if your business was equipped to survive played havoc on my mind. However, I should have realised that being surrounded by talented, loyal and hard-working professionals, who all wanted the same as I did, the success of our brand, would be the cornerstone of our recovery.

Being a leader of a business can be a lonely job and so I promoted talent internally to my board, which brought fresh passion, desire and smart thinking to the top table. I showed that I had faith in those who’d delivered for me time and time again and we then again promoted from within, to build a new leadership team with delivered great stability and success. Bright Purple then brought home 3 senior ex-Bright Purple people from spells serving at other firms and now they’re back with a renewed energy, deeper industry knowledge and a real purpose, to be the best they can be.

We adapted to the new world of remote/hybrid work forces, Bright Purple people settled well to this new life and have thrived! We invested heavily in new CRM and website, and we also reaped the benefits of having quality internal marketing inside the firm. That investment continued in our finance and back-office operation, allowing it to be smoother and slicker, educating our team to strengthen our capability in compliance. The business also developed its first remote resourcing unit; gone are the days of you must live locally to be Bright Purple, now you want to be Bright Purple for the right reasons, we are happy to welcome you to the family, wherever you are located.

2022 will see us continue to invest in our people and our operation, and it is our intention to keep pushing hard, but at the same time, playing hard. The pandemic years have stalled having fun as a company face to face, but we can’t wait to get busy doing just that, having fun! We’re already planning our away trip to Barcelona at the end of Q1, fun in the sun.

We have faced much uncertainty since March 2020, but as the business heads in to its 27th year of trading, we are presented with an opportunity for explosive growth. As CEO of this amazing firm, I’m excited for what’s to come! We are not the biggest, but hey biggest isn’t always best, but we are honest, hard-working professionals with a desire to be better tomorrow than we were today.

Thank you to everyone who had supported us over the 27 years and we remain truly grateful.

Nick Price, Bright Purple
