Senior Software Engineer - Edinburgh, Dundee or Bristol

Bright Purple are working in close partnership with one of the most exciting space-tech start-ups in Europe to recruit multiple Senior Software Engineers to work on their core flight software.

The Role:

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll tackle challenging problems as a lead in focused squads dedicated to particular missions, R&D work, or product development.
Their technology stack is focused on low-level programming in the C language, making heavy use of Linux, as well as smaller usage of Python (largely for testing purposes). This is a safety-critical and highly regulated software engineering environment, where strong knowledge of good development practise is key. You will be expected to take the lead on some projects, right from client briefing and PoCs through to delivery, helping guide more junior team members through challenging technical requirements.

What you’ll bring to the table:

3+ years of experience in commercial software engineering
Strong knowledge and experience of the “C” language/embedded-C
Excellent understanding of Linux
Previous experience as a Senior Software Engineer, ideally with technical leadership or project leadership experience
