Senior UI / UX Designer

Are you interested in becoming a part of one of the UK's leading space-techs?

Over the last decade, our client has left the chasing pack behind to become industry leaders in the creation of in-flight and mission control software used at the heart of satellite missions for some of the leading Space Agencies, Research Organisations, and Academic Institutions. The last few years they’ve bucked the market trends by securing £multi-million investment, building a delivering a new global best in class space platform, and growing their reach internationally.

They are a true Scottish success story, and under the guidance of their Product expert, they are now looking to harness the expertise of an experiential focused UX/UI designer.

Benefits:
  • Salary up to £60,000
  • This role would be largely home based (remote) with occasional meetings in an office local to you (Scotland or the South West).
  • Generous annual leave allowance
  • Employee benefit trust
  • Flexibility around working from home and core hours
  • The exciting opportunity to work on cutting edge space projects

The Role:
  • You will play a crucial part in ensuring their services and platform serves the need of the engineering team, their customers, and the space industry.
  • Your stakeholders and users will be people actively involved in space missions – so questions posed and challenges faced will be outside the normal scope of digital design.
  • Crafting intuitive user designs to, for .e., handle data payloads from satellites will be the sorts of fascinating projects at play in this role.

What you’ll need:
  • Strong background, ideally a sole-contributor or lead, in UI and UX design
  • Passion for strong user experiences but a willingness to compromise and trade-off where required
  • Good grasp of design tools, mock-ups, wireframes, etc.
